Emergency Appropriation Resolution 2906 An Emergency Appropriation Resolution Appropriating up to $600,000 to the Juneau School District for K-5 Rally Programing During COVID-19; Funding Provided by the CARES Act Special Revenue Fund.

MANAGER'S REPORT:

This emergency resolution would appropriate $600,000 for the Juneau School District for K-5 RALLY programing. Expenditure of funds would be governed by an MOA between CBJ and JSD.  The terms of the MOA would be consistent with the prioritization outlined at the September 14 Committee of the Whole meeting.  In addition, child care assistance grants will be made available for low-income families.

Funding for this appropriation would be provided by the CARES Act Special Revenue Fund.

The Committee of the Whole reviewed this request at its September 14 meeting, and recommended that an emergency appropriation resolution be drafted and introduced at the September 21 regular Assembly meeting.

RECOMMENDATION:

The City Manager recommends the Assembly adopt this emergency resolution.
