The Supplemental Agreement will increase the Seawalk Bridge to Gold Creek, Phase III contract by $1,264,470 or 43% of the original contract award amount. CBJ Code 53.50.040 allows for supplemental agreements on existing contracts and requires Assembly approval, if the amount is greater than $250,000, and a public interest finding. The public interest finding shows that cost savings will be realized in construction, contract administration, operations and maintenance costs. Additional benefits include accelerating the construction timeline to allow for the project to be constructed in the fall and winter with a spring opening of the park, restroom and fountain.
The Assembly Public Works and Facilities Committee reviewed this request on July 13, 2017 and forwarded it to the Assembly for adoption.
